en el último informe de resultados CMMI del SEI, publicado en marzo de 2010, España renueva su liderato en el ranking de empresas europeas "certificadas" con CMMI, alcanzando las 180.
Desde Cynertia, nos felicitamos por estos buenos resultados, reconociendo el mérito evidente del Plan Avanza que tanto ha ayudado a la mejora de procesos TIC y CMMI en nuestro país.

Enterprise Architecture Planning: Developing a Blueprint for Data, Applications, and Technology

Hola a todos,
deseaba seguir con la serie de comentarios sobre libros de planificación y gestión de las TIC con este libro sobre Arquitectura de Sistemas de Información (continuaré refiriéndome a este tema con su nombre en inglés: Enterprise Architecture).
El libro Enterprise Architecture Planning: Developing a Blueprint for Data, Applications, and Technology es MUY BUENO para ayudar a entender qué es una Arquitectura Empresarial (Enterprise Architecture), uno de los elementos básicos de cualquier Plan Director de Sistemas para un Plan Director de Sistemas para la mejora de la eficacia del negocio.
Describe que es la Enterprise Architecture, como debería guiar la creación de un Plan Director de Sistemas, integrado y efectivo, para una gran corporación o una PYME. Además, repasa con detalle los pasos necesarios en un proyecto de Enterprise Architecture.
Viene con un buen conjunto de material de referencia que te ayuda a preparar una auditoría del estado actual de la Enterprise Architecture, Arquitectura de Datos, Application Portfolio, IT Infraestructure, etc.
La única parte negativa no se debe al libro, sinó al paso inexorable del tiempo: se escribió en 1995, hace 15 años, y por tanto está algo desfasado por el rápido avance de los sistemas de información. Debería refrescarse con muchas de las tendencias que han aparecido durante la última década en la arquitectura e integración de sistemas, como la adopción creciente de SOA, el uso masivo del middleware, Java, Cloud Computing y muchas otras.

I wanted to continue with this series of book reviews about IT planning and management with this book about Enterprise Architecture Planning.
The book Enterprise Architecture Planning: Developing a Blueprint for Data, Applications, and Technology is very good to help to understand what is Enterprise Architecture, one of the basic elements in a Strategic Systems Plan for the business performance improvement.
IT describes what is Enterprise Architecture, how it should guide the creation of a Strategic System's Plan which is integrated and effective, no matter if it is intented for a big corporation or a SMB-sized company. Besides, it goes over the steps and activities needed to perform a Enterprise Architecture Project.
It comes with a good reference material which helps you to prepare an audit of the current state of the Enterprise Architecture, the Data Architecture, Applications Portfolio, Infraestructura IT, etc.
The only drawback of the book is due to the passage of time. It was written in 1995, 15 years ago, and many IT practices and technologies have been introduced since then. It should be refreshed with system's architecture and integration topics such as SOA adoption, the massive use of middleware, Java, Cloud Computing and many others.
